TV.

Normally I don't talk about shows on TV. However I must say that I love Monster House. So why the hell am I typing about it when I could just be laying next to my sweet heart and watch it?!

Mmm, strawberries.

I had four of the smallest, sweetest strawberries after lunch today. I was covered in juice. I can still smell them on my fingers. Mmm, I love strawberries.

Mmm, drool... strawberries

Happy Hoop.

Well I brought six hoops to Jesi's birthday party. The kids loved them. (and so did the adults once the sun went down.) I brought my camera but left it in the car. I was having too much fun hooping to take pictures! Happy Birthday Jesi!

TGIT?

Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is payday! I had hoped that my credit card debt would be gone by May of this year. Well it looks like I was only off by one month. Amex is the only card left with a balance on it and is less than $600 (because I just bought tickets to see the Dead at Jones Beach.) So July and August will be strickly profit (minus the regular bills). I told myself that Christmas would not be credit. This year I truely mean that. Friends will only recieve cards. Even if what I purchased was cheap I just cannot do it. I get carried away buying things for everyone! I used to use the money that was given to me for Christmas to pay off credit card bills that sky rocketed. (Even the candles that I dressed up myself last year were more than I should have done.) My homemade gifts still broke the bank. Ugh. And when it comes to my mom, sisters and Eric I just cannot spend over $200 on each. Why must I insist on getting a new stereo or a new game system... In fact I may just start Christmas shopping now so I can get stuff on sale. Hrm...

Is it August yet?

My class is over. I handed in my final paper. Now what? Now I must wait until August. Time flew when I was in class. Now work creaps by. I know I should just be patient and not want time to rush past and I know it will be August before I know it, but this time at work is killing me.

The long story.

Okay, so let me explain yesterday. Normally when going to a concert I try to get a nearby hotel room. Driving home at 3am is not safe. It is difficult to stay awake - I don't care what anyone says. Its fucking dangerous. In fact on the way home we saw an SUV that side swiped the gardrail. No other cars involved - logical thought - the driver dozed off.

Anyway... I didn't purchase tickets before hand. I did not get a room. At 1:30 Eric called me at work and said "Honey lets go to the dead show." Three minutes later I was running around the building like a mad woman. I found my boss and said "Eric got out of work early and the dead are playing at SPAC." His response "Good bye and be safe". I finished up what I was doing and was rushed home. We were on the road by 2:30. Ten miles from the venue we could see blue skies. The stars shone last night.

Oh, yeah. Mike rocked the house with Phil for a while. I fucking love the bass. Check out the setlist - I had a fucking blast.

Guess what?

I am going to see the dead.

My Honey's work.

My sweetheart loves his new job. This last house that he (and the two guys he works with of course) remodeled is online. You can check out the progress pictures. The owner is awesome - he even left a little note for the guys on the webcam page.

Hey Avid Reader!

Hehehe. Avid readers - well if you don't want to miss out on anything I have to say don't forget to check out my diet / jog / exercise log. Delight.

P.S. I am really bored with the internet. Anyone want to suggest another good site for me to read?

An Essay?

I wrote this "essay" January 24, 2003. It was included in my online application to the Mount.
I have always enjoyed learning. Everything is so interesting that I have a difficult time narrowing down my field of study. After a bit of soul searching I realize that teaching seems to be the clearest option. Sharing my love of learning with others lightens up my day. Hopefully the students will realize my passion and enjoy themselves as much as I will.
Currently I am attempting to come up with five strong reasons why "Gay / lesbian weddings should be legally recognized." My final argument needs five premises and I don't think "because Addie says so" will suffice.

Sun!

The sun is out! It is 6:30am and I can see the sun! Please - I know that I have said this before but I feel the need to say it again. I am so tired of the rain (I understand that it is good for the earth and last summer was way too dry). I feel so happy to see the sun, everything is less dreary. It feels like summer! I think of good times - bonfires, concerts, bbqs, back yards lite with torches, crickets, fire flies. Ahh, the sun makes me think of all the good times that summer has to offer. Thank you Lord for giving me sun!

Last day.

Today is the last day of class. Next week no classes because the prof has a conference some where. That is awesome because we have a final argument to write and I can use the class time to do so. That makes me happy.

I have decided to convert my old joglog into MT. I am still working on the older entries but I am updating it now. Please go check it out if you want to hear about crunches and calories.

June 08, 2003

Oh yeah, I almost forgot.

Friday night Eric and I went to visit an old friend. I will not mention his name (if you want to know ask me when you see me). This story is good regardless of his name but for clarity lets call him BOB. We were all hanging out having a good time.

BOB mentioned something about pink panties several times throughout the evening. I also recall something about a bike, a window with a breakable screen and a kiddie's pool. The bike idea was deemed to risky because four inches of water would not help much when you ride a bike out the window (in pink panties). Silly boys. The pink panty idea would not die. After a few moments BOB emerged from his bedroom wearing white socks and a short white robe with big flowers stitched all over it.

BOB threw the robe to the floor and pranced around in his pink panties. The bike idea was out so a new plan was devised. Now sensitive readers must avert their eyes. I will put the new Jackass typed event in the original wording "teabag a candle with your balls". BOB in his pink panties began yelling for a candle.

The candle was lite about four times. After the hair was singed off they began pouring wax on BOB. Then the candle got boring and he began dancing around. Eric even got funky with BOB. I am sure that my retelling pales in comparasion to the actual event. It is times like those that I wish I had brought my camera with me.

As per my mother's request

Response to Censorship: Erasing Memory

I do not like censorship; however, I think that warnings are very necessary. Parents can read the warning and maybe even view the content before allowing their young children to view the material. Hopefully the parent did a good job of raising their offspring so the older ones know right from wrong. The cartoon, book, or song that they are exposed to should not teach morals; that job belongs to the parents.

Our country is so politically correct that we are boring. Generally no one wants to offend anyone else, radical groups are hypersensitive and few seem to have a sense of humor. Banning cartoons for their content is just another step into an even more bland existence. Viewing a documentary with clips and commentary about a risky cartoon just proves my point further. We can sit down and speak of the insulting parts and only show mild clips. How dull!

WWE

I may have had one too many but I am going to talk about professional wrestling. I just love Kurt Angle! The all american hero! The guy who enjoys making fun of himself. He just makes me smile. He is a dork and proud of it! (Just like me...)

Rain, rain... go away.

I have always been one to embrace the rain. I have always been one to run through thunderstorms with barefeet. Rarely do I scuff when I see showers. When hearing others complain I would remind them that we need the water for the flowers.

Well now the flowers are drowning. A tree at work was bending over as if it's back was broken. Rather than helping it straigten up they ripped it down. My car leaks. The roof on the inside sags - but only when it rains. Please God make this weekend sunny! I only need two days of sunshine then you can make it gloomy all you want.

Work talk. Avert your eyes.

Yesterday my upper up up boss linked arms with me. I know this may sound strange but physical contact from her is rare. This was not just a hand patting your back, or a stroke of your arm. My hands were in my pockets bending my elbows. She linked on as if we were about to square dance. I have noticed small things recently:
  1. Less Stress
  2. More work accomplished
  3. More goofing off
  4. Less bitching about work (don't bitch just do)
  5. No feedback from bosses is good feedback
  6. The upper up up boss seems happy with me (could it be because I am attending her Alma Mater? Maybe just a little... It could also be that our department is producing more work than it has in a long time...)
  7. I have began real college.
  8. I am so fucking happy I could burst.

Fun?

My old about me page. Nifty huh?

Health Junk.

I love chocolate soy milk. I have tried other kinds but Silk - "ooh baby where have you been all my life?" The other kinds were okay - but damn this is good! I want to drink the entire thing. I have stopped myself to save some for tomorrow. I am drinking water now. No junk food so far and none in sight because I still have my strawberries and yougurt for dessert later. Haven't touched my trail mix yet this week and cannot find room for the apple I brought with me to school and work today.

Breakfast

  1. Coffee (I just love the taste... )
  2. Peach Nouriche

Mid-morning snack

  1. One small banana
  2. Cantelope, grapes & cherries

Lunch

  1. Salad w/ red peppers, green peppers, carrots, purple onion, celery, spinach leaves, garlic, beans, tomatoes, cheese...

Dinner

  1. Fire Roasted Veggie Burger topped w/ cheese, lettuce, veggie baked beans & salsa (no bun).
  2. Chocolate Soy Milk

This morning while reading over my homework and various websites I lifted weights. I also did 40 crunches (I know its not much but I will add more as time goes on). I plan on doing my "lifting" and "crunching" tonight.

Health Food Junkie.

So this may turn into a boring recap of my progress. My goal of no junk food has been excellent today. I have had only good yummy foods. I started the day with a delicious Strawberry Nouriche. They are great - if you like yougurt then you must try one. My chocolate for the day was a glass of chocolate soy milk. I skipped the rice at supper. I think that my eating habbits are great at work. I bring only good foods and spend no money in the vending machines. It is when I get home that I have the biggest problem. I prepared strawberries for each night - dessert. I just need to work out on a regular basis. I think that will be the main factor in my weight loss. I do not want to become skinny - my goal is a size 12. I am now a 16 and used to be an 18. My change in eating habbits caused me to loose one size. The next two sizes will have to come from working out. Where are my TriCords? (I have been lifting weights while watching TV - maybe in 37 days I will see a change in my arms...)

A sports fan?

I am really starting to enjoy Yankees games. I was never one for watching sports on TV however I think I may enjoy it more because I went to a game and had real seats. I loved it! Read about how much Katie enjoyed her game this year. I can't wait to go back again.

Now onto the health talk. Instead of eating chocolate once a week I have changed that to one of these a day. And instead of buying that machine thing I ordered TriCords from Living Arts (my new favorite catalog).
