Dust Bunnies.

I think I was a freshman in high school when I asked if I could put my bed on the floor or maybe it was in eigth grade when I first did it. In elementary school I had a white bed with a pink canopy; I loved my bed. Yet after a while I yearned for something different. Maybe I wanted to "hip out". I bought a tiedye wall hanging and asked if I could put my bed right on the floor. Just the box frame and the bed, plain and simple. I loved it. I cannot tell you why I prefered the bed so low.

Once Eric and I got engaged my mother bought us new bedroom furniture (an early wedding present) which included a bed frame. So we put it together and sat the bed into it. I was a bit nervous because the three pieces of wood that were to support it seemed paper thin. Soon after regular use one of the support "beams" started to crack.

Yesterday morning our bed broke. So when we came home from work the bed got taken apart and the mattress is now resting on the floor. I must have told Eric that I love the bed on the floor about a hundred times last night. Now it feels like my bedroom once again. I wish I could put my finger on why I prefer my bed this way.

I had an idea last night about the frame of the bed. I like the head board. I still want the bed on the floor. So I asked Eric if he could chop of the legs of the frame and head board and we could just put it around the mattress. That is a risky idea because if something goes wrong then we are screwed - that bed was not cheap, a bed that expensive should have been more sturdy.

I am happy to have my bed on the floor again; it feels like home. (oh yeah and there is no room for dust bunnies under the bed.)

Dork

All hail Addie, Queen Dumbass. Currently I am downloading 19,969 different emails. Emails? That sounds funny. Apparently I have a "catchall email account" that, you guessed it, catches all email. So any email address that has ever existed here at phunkystew.com is being downloaded as we speak (or as I type this).

Last night I went on a peaceful bike ride. We started out eight strong. Then all of a sudden there were three. We waited at the destination for about twenty minutes. Alas we gave up and went to the other said destination for ice cream. Soon after we begin to eat our cones six more of our group arrived. (Yep we lost one and gained two...) Anyway - long confusing story short - I went on a bike ride and had a good time!

Boobies.

I know it has been a while since I have updated this site. For some reason my life seems to be a bit on the boring side. Well, maybe not boring but eh, I don't know. Over the weekend I went tubing. The water was cold but I had a blast. (My layer of "chub" kept me from shivering constantly and also kept my lips from turning purple.) I got to spend time with great friends and had a relaxing Sunday evening. I do have one thing that I must point out. I am glad that I have not lost touch with my dear friend Jesi, we no longer work in the same building and I was afraid I would never see her again. (I know that is silly.) Eh, off to check on the salmon filets...

Update smupdate.

So in about a month or so I will be a full time college student once again! As of late this computer has been nothing but a glorified radio, cookbook and calorie counter. It also serves as a place for me to babble about nothing much and to read the babble my friends spew as well. Until next time ladies and gentlemen I bid you Adieu.

(last entry deleted because it was dumb :) thanks for your update about the hoax lady and gentleman!)

Um, no.

This article makes me angry. What? Huh? What in the hell is the writer talking about. If anything the "abductions" sound like they are from that movie - uh, um... damnit - Old School not the television show Jackass. Why do "adults" insist on blaming the actions of "minors" on television? Ugh. It drives me batty.

Eye & Brain Candy

Anyone want to suggest a book (or two) for me to read now?

The rosey fingers of dawn...

Last night I made a choice about my life. I decided that each morning I would jog for 10 - 15 minutes with our dog Noah. Maybe later on I will tread longer but for now 10 minutes sounds better than no minutes. I have not jogged in a while and the excuse that I have is a rather good one. The treadmill is in the attic (as I have already mentioned) and the attic is hot!

One factor in my new vow is that damn Nike commercial - you know the one with the lady that is 50 and jogging. Well I want to be that lady. So my chubby ass had better start now!

Yet another reason for the new plan is that my weight loss is going ever so slowly with just a "diet". I want to kick it up a notch. And again I would like to stress that my weight is not my biggest concern. I am more focused on the fact that I want to be smaller. I would be in ecstasy if I were a size 12 and 180 lbs. Currently I am in a 16 - yes it is a bit baggy but I am stuck at 209 lbs. I know muscle weighs more than fat and I am okay with that.

In addition to the weight concerns and the heath factors I want to spend more time with my doggie, Noah. I will also be outside more. I love being outside and at work I am in an office with NO windows. Plants cannot live, I die a little each day.

Anyway, I think that just one of those claims is good enough to re-start my jogging routine outside with Noah.

Flush toliets & Hoops

After finishing with the flush toilets I waited outside for my sister. In a matter of seconds a guy with a hoop yells - "Hey, she can do it! She can even do a crazy lift it over your head thing!" He walks up to me and asks "Please show us what you can do." So I hooped. Lifted it over my head and brought it back down to my waist. I noticed my sister had finished. I handed back the hoop and headed back to the music. (Am I a dork for thinking it was cool that people there knew I could hoop?)

Ahh, back at last. Wait, no! The Vibes are over?

I think my lips have sunburn. I should have applied sunblock there too! D'oh! I took my camera with me and have around 90 pictures from them vibes. Now it is time for laundry, unpacking and general scrubbing. I enjoy getting all the nooks and crannys every once and again...

I have been exposed to the joys of Spearhead! Ahh, I love being totally and completely rocked by a new (to me) band. I want to find a copy of what they played yesterday, so if anyone knows anyone that taped the vibes - please let me know. I want a copy of yesterday's Spearhead set.

I am also now obsessed with henna I want to learn to make it myself. I can practice on myself and my sisters. It is the perfect solution to my desire to change something about my body and not have something permanent done!

Ep!

By this time tomorrow we should be on the road! I am so silly with myself. The weather does not look too bad at all! Music, camping, hooping, fun - here I come! (PS I will be the one in the cowboy hat with the hoops!)

Queen Dork.

With the vibes in just a few short days I have begun the packing process. I have begun compiling meals. I am cutting the preparation process at the vibes and getting everything ready to cook here. I am so excited! I am making lists of things I have and lists of things I need and lists of what lists I have!

Last weekend we had three days off. I completely forgot about work. This time I have a FIVE day weekend. Oh, joy! I cannot wait...

4th of July fun.

my mom in the sun

We had a splendid time yesterday at the Bair's house for their annual 4th of July celebration! We played volleyball, hooped, sweat our bums off, and ate until we burst; I cannot forget to mention the three kegs and countless bottles of wine. Despite of the unforgiving heat we had fun and found salvation in the shade. Now that I think about it I should have taken a picture of all the fruit and cheese and snacks and spinach dip... They had a pig roasting! That thing was spinning at 9am and was served as a main course that night. (I hear that it was very good.) I was planning on being a picture taking fool but its hard to snap shots while playing volleyball! It was great and I should still be asleep because we did not hit the hay until 4am.

Poor baby.

the thing that was sticking out of the kitty

Our poor kitty had a long metal thing sticking out of him. He was a trooper and wanted to be held. It just missed his spine and he is relaxing at home now. We still don't know what the hell that thing is or how it got in him. My mom tells the story as well.

Do you want to see more? Then check them out right here. I am going to a 4th of July party (on the 5th) and plan on bringing my hoops and my camera. This time there will be tons of pictures taken!
