Ahem...
Well for some reason I posted too many comments on Jesi's site in too short of a time period so her website yelled at me. Because I have to head to work I will leave the comment here. Boys are stupid, throw rocks at them!Thank you for your time.

Uh,
It has been a rough year so far and rather than throw myself a pity party I am just going to go zone out in front of the television. We have HBO on demand now so I will just put on a few movies and have a few beers. I need an evening off...January 27, 2004
Giggle
Blog for America. I am not looking forward to seven hours of work, six hours of school and seventeen inches of snow... When is spring break!?January 26, 2004
Eep!

Resolutions.
It's never to late to make your "resolutions" if you ask me. So take a peek at mine. 1. Get my history degree before I am 25 and get my master's degree before I am 30. 2. Eat right. (which means one treat a day to help limit junk food intake) 3. Run, Lola, Run. er- Run, Addie, Run.These are not mere resolutions - they are my goals in life right now. (Another desire that I don't want to mention is to have a baby before I am 27, which may make number one difficult...)

Sweet!
For the first time since Eric bought me my printer / scanner / copier I needed to buy a new black ink cartridge. Inclosed was an envelope with postage paid so that I might mail back the old cartridge for recycling! How fucking sweet!Schedule Change.
For over a year now I have been making "gourmet" salads for lunch. I purchased some of those nifty glad/ziplock plastic containers for about a dollar a piece. (Side note: those containers are awesome and seem to be getting cheaper.) I would buy that bagged lettuce, a bag of baby carrots, a green pepper, a red pepper, some grape tomatoes and a purple onion. Sometimes I would add cucumbers but not too often - they get mushy.I would make the salads every Sunday and they would last for the entire week. The trick is to make everything as dry as possible as wet salads turn to mush. I even bought little containers to hold the dressing to prevent a soggy salad.
All of those ingredients usually cost about twenty bucks and if you divide that by five you can see that an awesome, crunchy, healthy lunch does not break the bank. After a while I started to make fruit salads for breakfast. My mom noticed what I did each week and started to join me for the weekly making of "the lunches". Every Sunday we would go shopping and spend an hour or two preparing the meals for the week.
Let me tell you that I have to work Saturday mornings and spending each Sunday morning preparing my lunch started to get taxing on my nerves. Not that spending time with my mother is taxing but I just needed one day to do what ever I want. I needed one day to sleep until noon, to stay in my jammies and watch movies, to go for a bike ride (once the weather warms up), to just have no duties or responsibilities what so ever. So now my mother and I do our lunch thing after I get out of work on Saturday... It feels so good to have a day of rest.

A new obsession.
It all started last Saturday at work. A friend of mine asked if I wanted a clementine or an apple. I could not decide so she gave me both. I peeled open that tiny orange delight and after one bite I became obsessed. I wanted more and what a great time for my new obsession, they are now in season! Go out and buy a crate! Yummy! I have only had one so far today. I could seriously just sit down and eat five of the little suckers! Oh, did I mention that they are about a hundred times easier to peel than plain ol' oranges?January 12, 2004
Owie
I am a fool. Saturday night I cut my thumb and I cried like a baby. I cannot use my thumb. It freaks me out to even think about it. If I had had any more wine than I did I could have cut the tip off completely. I felt what I was doing half way and stopped. So yes, the tip of my thumb is half way cut off. I am never again going to touch a knife after drinking any amount of alcohol. NEVER. I most likely could use a stitch or two, but will not go to the hospital and fork over $500 for a few stitches.Thank you to Jesi and Keith and Brett and who ever else tried to mend my boo-boo. Thank you Jesi for cleaning up. I could not ask for a better friend.

Quilt Cover
So yesterday I could not purchase the book for my class until 4:30pm and because I had the day off I decided to get a little nuttie and make a quilt cover for our down comforter. The first thing Eric said to me is "So how much did it cost?" I told him that I made it from fabric that I already had! So here is my first attempt at a quilt type dealie!

Funk!
I am so not jealous, really I am not. Okay, that is a huge lie, but we all knew that anyway...January 05, 2004
Ep.
My first class starts tonight, the rest of them begin on January 26th. Yep, I am taking an accelerated course and as usual I am quite nervous. I have been at this school for a whopping three semesters now and I am still a freaked out little girl. I don't think I will be used to the school until I am graduating...Sometimes I really doubt my abilities when it comes to college, but I have no reason to do so... ugh. When do I get my "You are full of self confidence!" certificate?

Happy new...
Right now I focus my time on making this house my house. My grandparents lived here before I moved in and they left me a lot of their old stuff. Don't get me wrong, I am very grateful for all of the things they left behind for me but I cannot fit into the dress my grandmother left behind. I do not enjoy the wooden duck with faded plastic flowers on my front porch. I have no need for four extra cabinets made of partical board. I have thrown bags of items away and now I think I can sort of relax... I plan on putting the rest of the items in the attic to sell once the weather gets warmer.I just need my space filled with things that are useful and beautiful. I just don't need five rugs that smell like moth balls for my bathroom. Two rugs will work just fine, while I wash one the other will do. I am not one that likes clutter and in fact I just cannot stand junk. I throw my own "junk" in the garbage if I realize I don't use it. Iwill start having yearly yard sales just to keep my house free of clutter. Now that I have an attic I can keep it out of my face until the spring. Ahhh, spring...
