Quick updates - all about me!

I really dig homemade popcorn with a little bit of parmesan cheese, sea salt and melted butter with a smashed clove of garlic. I saw the recipe on 30 minute meals the other day - it only takes five minutes to make and all of the kernels pop (unlike that expensive and stupid microwave popcorn)! To make it more healthy I need to find a butter substitute that doesn't suck...

I think reality tv shows are the world's worst oxymoron!

In three weeks I will be done with this semester and starting the first summer session - with only one class! Free time here I come...

I finally have a desk at work and it feels wonderful.

Check it yo.

Timbuk2 carries nifty bags - I just don't have $100 to spend on a thing to carry a few note books and a water bottle. Someday I will have more money and more important things to tote around.

Thank you all for the lovely birthday - it was more than I could have imagined! (And I must take a moment to let everyone know how great Eric is - he bought me an hour long massage. To clarify, he brought me into the spa, paid for the session and said, "I'll be back in an hour." It was just the thing I needed - with this crazy assed schedule I seem to be keeping...)

Choices.

Last night I had a choice to make. I could have worked on a paper that is due 4/29 and handed in a draft today or I could have gone to my little sister's softball game. Needless today I went to class draft-less and went to my sisters game. She was starting pitcher, how could I have missed that? Sadly, I did not stay for the entire game - I was freezing and hungry and it was getting dark... but I will be there for the whole game a week from Saturday. I will park my keister and yell until my voice is gone...

Today at the Mount...

Today is Friday at MSMC. Why? Well because of holidays and days off... To ensure that all classes miss the same number of classes due to holidays they made today Tuesday into Friday. Now the only reason I bothered to mention this is because I do not have classes on Fridays! So there is no class for me today... I do still have to bang out eight hours of work but nevertheless my day will be much shorter.

I have time to work on the three papers due at the end of this month! I have time to stop at Old Navy to buy myself a new (book) bag - I was looking online last night and there were a few I would like to get. Let's just hope the store has a nice selection. [update: I bought this one!]

PS: I have an Instructional Design Model!

A usable truth

I have to write a paper on a "usable truth" or lack there of. I have something in mind to fill up a few pages, I think. Does anyone have any thoughts regarding a "usable truth" (religious or not)?

The semester is nearing the end and has gone so quickly. I did register for the fall semester and if everything goes according to plan I will graduate by May '05. Just three years after I should have! Hey, better late than never besides I am getting "real life" experiences. Oh, what in the hell am I going to do about graduate school?!

A happy thought to share: soon it will be hoopin-weather!

Register.

Today is the day! I can register for class for the fall 2004 semester. I tried to access the web module however it seems that it is currently unavailable. I hardly think a bunch of college students are bombarding it at 7:15am. Now I will have to wait until 9pm to register... Why do my days have to be so long??

Is there a good Samaritan out there that would like to pay for all my needs so I can focus on school and not have to have crazy assed schedules? *Cough* Mr. Gates, areyoufeelingcharitable? *Cough*

A new look

I think everyone should check out Jambase; they have a new look and I just love their services. I also plan on updating my list of links to include links I use a lot - for example All Recipes and Fit Day (which I need to start using more often again...)

Oh yeah, Happy Easter. My head still hurts from last night.

Ep!

It is official (according to the registration charts at MSMC). I am a senior! You know it felt like this day would never come especially because I should have had my degree two years ago. Well, that's what I get for uncertainty. Hell, I also found the love of my life and helped my mother out with getting her own degree.

If I had gone away to a school some where out there who knows if and when Eric and I would have hooked up. I am not sure if I believe in fate (i.e.: us getting together would have happened regardless) or wonderful chance (i.e.: the events I took in the past led up to us meeting again)... Did that make any sense? Ugh, I am still working on my first cup o' joe.

Oh, yeah I almost forgot I signed up for two summer classes. Class the first: History of Islam; that will be nice because I already took (History of) Middle East. The second class: Nazi Germany; which I must say explains itself. I am already looking into my fall classes as well!

There is one small glitch. Once I have my degree, what the hell do I do with it?

Daylight savings my ass.

I hate day light savings nonsense. It is 6:30am and it is dark, which means that my body wants to sleep. Please don't get me wrong, I do enjoy an extra hour of light in the afternoon but maybe they could make the change gradually. For example, yesterday could have been a half hour set back and next weekend could be a half hour more. This way my body could adjust to waking up at an odd time. And yes I realize it is all about me!

Seriously, I really don't enjoy waking up in the dark. Maybe (Haha!) our society could just go by the sun. Let's just say that instead of me getting to work at 7am I could arrive at sunrise+1 which would translate into an hour after the sun rises. I realize my system is much less precise and ridiculously silly but hey what can I say at 6:30 in the morning when it is still dark out and I should be sleeping?

April 02, 2004

Ah, hell yeah!

So who is going? I am! To which show you ask? I am not sure just yet...

April 01, 2004

Dork Alert.

In a letter delivered to my mom's house (I really haven't changed all my mailings...) I was given some good news. She read it to me over the phone and it basically said that MSMC is going to put me in some sort of Dean's List book. The best part is that someone would have had to submit me! I have no idea who it could be, I have only been attending for less than a year. Okay enough of smelling my own shit!

I cannot wait for the weekend to get here. I am telling you that Monday - Thursday I am just shit. In fact right now I should be reading chapter four in a book that contains writings from the 1700s which we will be discussing in class in about three hours.
