It's been one week...

I have a final tomorrow and I just don't want to study. My cold (which is not gone yet) has really screwed with me hardcore. My finances are a total mess and my grades (well midterm grade) are in the gutter. My house is a mess and my laundry is not done. And yes, bitch, bitch, bitch... All I seem to do is bitch.

I applied for a debit card - no more cash floating around... I spend money when I have it. Stupid vending machines at work - anything in them is completely and utterly unhealthy and a waste of money. I wasted five bucks at the bar the other night when I wanted to hear music at 3:30am... closing time. Alright I need to shut my mouth, do the dishes, fold the laundry, sort the laundry, vacuum, etc... but most of all I need to stop bitching!

Overpaid.

Yesterday I went to the doctor. After having been sick for over a week and realizing that it was just not going away, I went to the doctor. Of course I had to work and go to school and be sure to have completed a book report worth ten little points. Luckily I was able to leave work early: perhaps they are tired of hearing me hack myself to death.

Get ready for nothing but Addie bitching: My appointment was at a certain time as are all appointments. I of course did not even get into an examination room until over an hour after my scheduled time. Yep, I sat in the hot waiting room for over an hour... Keep in mind that this doctor had already cancelled an appointment I had for Friday and now on Monday several days later I was forced to wait over an hour to see him. Lets think about this for one minute. I would have no problem getting a phone call stating that the doctor was behind and to please arrive an hour later than scheduled. I would have had no problem being told upon arrival to wait an hour - I would have went and got an ice cream cone at the store down the street... I would have gladly done any - freaking - thing other than sit in that room and wait.

Fortunately my mother had accompanied me to the visit so the wait was not so horrid but still we would have enjoyed an ice cream treat. Ready for the kicker? When the doctor did finally see me and I mentioned the fact that I had to go to school tonight he quite plainly stated that "Patience is a virtue." I felt my eyes swelling and I lost my voice. I wanted so badly to give that man a piece of my mind yet I held back my frustration and anger. I held back the fact that I had already waited over an hour and did so quite patiently. For a girl with a full time schedule an hour is a very precious thing. Please do not assume that you know me in the least and should tell me that I need to be patient. I do no have time to listen to your advice.

Netflix

I did it. I finally signed up for Netflix and I am expecting to be pleased. It seems easy enough. I have been unhappy with the new releases provided by Time Warner Cable as a part of their HBO on demand lineup. All the good new movies are still $3.95 a pop. Now with Netflix I will be able to see the newest movies without having to go to the damn video store. I did not have a problem with late fees because I had the same type of program that Netflix offers but the local store decided to raise the price gradually to about $30 a month. Hell now I will be able to browse from the comfort of my centuries old computer chair while munching on a salad that I cannot taste. (still got the cold)

I am turning into my mother: I just burped while saying "buuuurp" which is a habbit that my mother has. Of course she also says walla walla while she burps! Regardless I don't want to do anything other than burp while burping. Oh, lord I think I need to shut up. This whole sickness thing is really bothering me. I can function somewhat normally but I still cough constantly and blow my nose every five minutes. I will be visiting the doctor on Friday hopefully...

102.4

I have been feeling yucking since Friday. I forced myself to go to work today even though I still felt (and still do feel) like shit. I understand that the following is just bitching nonsense but I must let it out. I have been working at the same company for over three years. I have changed my status "full-time" to "part-time" and back and forth. Keep in mind that I am always on time (no more than five minutes late) and rarely miss a day of work. I have not missed a day of work since the end of August 2003 until yesterday when my temperature was 102.4. I have no "sick time" to cover the hours that I missed yesterday and I realize that changing my status prevented me from accruing any paid time off and then I must wait three months again once I changed back to full-time, yada yada yada... I just feel that if someone is a dedicated employee and actually gets sick then the person should be able to stay home and recover. I know how unrealistic that hope is but, c'mon!

I understand that there are rules and guidelines to be followed and I also understand that those rules and guidelines are different for everyone. It drives me crazy to bust my ass into work to actually work while I see people reading magazines or surfing the internet. Keep in mind that my nose is red and my voice is hoarse and I am doing my job while other are relaxing and doing what they wish. I understand that this will not change and I understand that I must be the change but when you are still feeling shitty all you want to do is go to sleep.

Grants...

Well, I do not qualify for a Pell Grant which seems strange to me. Let me put this bluntly: Last year my total gross income was $5,000 more than it costs to attend school in one year and we are talking courses only - I don't live on campus. Room and board would have "broken the bank" if you will. I really need a cost of living increase - the price of gas alone is really screwing with me. Eh, I guess if I lived in the streets and smelled funny I would get free money to go to school.

I need your help.

I need help with the definition of the following term: friend. Any sort of answer or response welcome. And to my friend Katie, I am sorry if I screwed anything up for you. I was a little verbose the other evening.

C'est Bien!

My mother has loaned us her cat. He and Noah did live together for a few years so they are buddies. Eric and I both have long hours and we were begining to feel horrible that Noah had to spend most weekdays all alone in the house. My awesome mother would stop by to let him out but that still did not make up for ten hours with out company. So rather than getting a puppy (too $$$) we are borrowing my mother's cat. It seems that they enjoy sleeping near each other.

About a week or two ago (Eric and) I ripped up the carpet. Check out our lovely (eeek!) floor which I have to admit is better than that carpet:

En Francais!

My little sister will be heading off to Europe this summer and while she is there I will ask that she brings back one thing for me... perfume. A friend at work today reminded me how much I love the stuff and I realized that I don't have many feminine habbits and I would love to smell yummy. And I really want to have some of this yummy goodness... Mmmmmm... Maybe I was drunk when I drank it but that was the best beer I have ever had...

Pimp my Ride!

I really (times infinity) do not like MTV but I have seen an episode or two of Pimp My Ride and let me please say "Oh, I wish MTV would pimp my ride!" but alas I am twenty four and the age limit is twenty two and you must live in southern Cali- hell I would feel a tad guilty if that were to ever happen, you know with the whole hating MTV thing... Well I drive a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Limited and I love it save the few small problems with the rust, and old ass interior. My radio is falling out of the dash (maybe its because I sort of ripped it out because it stopped playing one day...) and the roof is sagging. My seat is torn and will not recline. And worst of all there are no cup holders. Inspite of me bashing the hell out of my jeep, I really do enjoy it overall. What am I getting at?

I am torn. My fifteen year old sister may end up with a newer auto than I which is strange because I have a full time job and she lacks one at all. (Mary I love you and think you deserve wheels but just not better ones than me!) I would love to give her my jeep and find myself a 1996 or 1997 Cherokee. Here in lies the problem - I need to get a school loan, I am heading off to Ireland and I still need to pay all of the bills that are associated with renting a house (including credit card bills with stuff for the house and fixing my jeep). My loverly job will not (I highly doubt) be able to do all of that...

I would love to spend about $5,000 on a new jeep and hand Mary my keys. However I don't see that happening for two reasons 1. $$$ and 2. I just love my car. Wishful thinking can really screw with you...Realisticlly speaking I should look into what a paint job costs and have someone professional fiddle with the stereo. Anyone know somebody that would like to pimp my ride for about $1,000?
